Schnuppertauchen

The Schnuppertauchen at NaturaGart takes place in the Unterwasserpark in Ibbenbüren, a purpose-built freshwater dive park constructed on pond liner. This is not a swimming pool: you are in the same water as sturgeons exceeding 2 metres in length, which makes the first dive a noticeably different experience from most inland try-dive setups. Over 10,000 people have done their first dive here. The format is one-on-one — a guide is assigned exclusively to you for the duration of the session. You are not part of a group being watched from poolside; your guide is in the water with you throughout. The site states you can surface under control at any time, which is the standard safety framing for this type of session. The minimum age is 12 years. No prior experience is required. The session qualifies as a Discover Scuba or equivalent try-dive — an introduction to breathing underwater and basic buoyancy, not a certification course.
