Aqua Dive & Water Sports

Aqua Dive & Water Sports, located in Lhaviyani Atoll, Maldives, is a conservation-led 5-star PADI Dive Centre. It prides itself on being a PADI Eco Centre, actively promoting marine biodiversity and community resilience by addressing our oceans' global challenges. The centre is dedicated to direct conservation action, including citizen science, policy advocacy, and education.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of diving courses, from Discover Scuba Diving to professional levels such as Divemaster and Instructor Development Course. It also specializes in Technical Diving and Wreck Diver courses, with certifications from PADI, SSI, and TDI. Facilities include a bar, equipment rental, a dive shop, air fills (nitrox), shore diving, and night diving.

A key part of their mission is coral restoration, where they care for a small-scale coral garden in partnership with the Atoll Marine Centre. This project includes coral frames, a table nursery, rope nurseries, and tree structures, with the goal of out-planting corals to degraded parts of their house reef. Divers can undertake training in Coral Restoration and Coral Conservation or join the Coral Restoration Volunteer Program.

Aqua Dive & Water Sports also conducts various conservation projects throughout the year, such as ghost net removals, Crown of Thorns removal, reef surveys, and underwater cleanups. They work with volunteers, interns, and universities to facilitate their projects, actively participating in the Dive Against Debris mission which has removed significant amounts of underwater debris. Their practices are designed to minimize environmental footprint, embedding sustainability as a core business value.
