YBD Dive Centre, located in the Perhentian Islands, Malaysia, is a PADI and SSI certified dive center. It offers a comprehensive range of courses, from Discover Scuba Diving up to the Instructor Development Course and technical diving, as well as specialty courses like Deep Diver and Enriched Air Nitrox. Snorkelers and divers looking to experience boat diving are also catered for, with opportunities for night diving provided.
The facilities at YBD Dive Centre include accommodation, a swimming pool for practice, full equipment rental, and air fills (including nitrox). Divers can enjoy both shore diving and boat diving, taking advantage of the area's rich marine life and stunning coral reefs. What people ask before booking
The nearest major airport is Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (KBR) in Kota Bharu. From there, you can take a taxi or private transfer to Kuala Besut Jetty. Alternatively, comfortable bus rides are available to Kuala Besut. From Kuala Besut Jetty, speedboats operate daily to the Perhentian Marriott Resort & Spa jetty, where YBD Dive Centre is located. The boat ride takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
The Perhentian Islands offer a variety of dive sites including Tanjung Basi (up to 30m), Sugar Wreck (18m), Terumbu Tiga (T3) (25m), Tokong Laut (25m), San Choi Wreck (18m), Serenggeh (18m), and Whip Garden (25m). Many other sites like Tokong Burung, Magnificient 7 Wreck, and Romantic Beach are also available.
YBD Dive Centre offers a full range of PADI courses, including beginner levels like Bubblemaker, Discover Scuba Diving, Scuba Diver, and Open Water Diver. They also offer Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, Emergency First Response, Divemaster, and PADI Specialty Courses such as Enriched Air Diver, Wreck Diver, and Deep Diver.
The PADI Open Water Diver course at YBD Dive Centre includes full equipment rental (BCD, Regulator, Tank, Mask, Weights & Weight Belt, Fins, Dive Computer, Surface Marker Buoy & Reel, Wetsuit), PADI eLearning Material, a Coral Propagation Workshop, and Professional Fees. The course takes 4 days and 3 nights on the island.
For the PADI Bubblemaker program, children must be at least 8 years old. For Discover Scuba Diving and Scuba Diver courses, the minimum age is 10 years old. For the Open Water Diver course, the minimum age is also 10 years old, and they must have adequate swimming skills and be in reasonable physical health.
The Perhentian Islands are known for their diverse marine life, including turtles (Hawksbill and Green), reef sharks (Blacktip and Bamboo), rays (Jenkins Whipray, Bluespotted Stingray, Marble Ray, Eagle Ray), Napoleon Wrasse, Humphead Parrotfish, Barracudas, Cuttlefish, Squid, and numerous species of colorful reef fish, nudibranchs, and moray eels. Whale sharks are also occasionally spotted between August and October.
