The minimum age for Discover Scuba Diving is 10 years old, with smaller tanks available for children. For PADI Seal Team, the minimum age is 8 years old. For Open Water Diver, it's 10 years (Junior Open Water), and for Advanced Open Water Diver, it's 12 years (Junior Advanced Open Water Diver). The Divemaster course has a minimum age of 18 years.
No, you do not need to know how to swim. An instructor will be by your side at all times during the Discover Scuba Diving experience, and you will be shown how to kick underwater. The focus is on relaxing, breathing, and enjoying the underwater world.
All PADI certification courses are fully inclusive. This typically includes equipment, training dives, elearning materials (where applicable), logbooks, exams, and the final certification. Specific inclusions vary slightly by course, so it's best to check the details for each course.
Dive Spirit Mauritius offers three daily dives. The first dive is at 9 am, the second at 11 am, and the third at 1 pm. Divers are requested to meet at the Dive Centre 30 minutes before each dive to arrange their equipment and ensure the boat can depart on time.
You can participate in Night Dives, which offer a chance to see different marine life active in the evening. Safari Dives are also available, typically a two-tank trip to Gunner's Island with lunch and drinks, potentially including cave dives, wall dives, and wreck dives. These are arranged on request and require a minimum number of participants.
