Curso Advanced Open Water

The SSI Advanced Adventurer programme at Scubazores runs over 2 days and serves as a structured way to sample several specialty areas before committing to individual courses. It is the step between Open Water and the dedicated specialties the centre offers.

With dive sites like Ilhéu da Mina (35 m, boat access, vertical wall, black coral formations) and Baixa da Vila Nova (12–30 m, 2 miles off the north coast, current-exposed) on the Scubazores roster, there's enough variety in Terceira's waters to cover the different dive profiles the programme calls for.

The course runs in Portuguese and English. Participants who complete it gain direct access to deeper sites on the centre's list that the Open Water card doesn't cover, including some of the offshore reef systems that require more experience in current.
