Junior Open Water Diver

The Junior Open Water Diver course at Kamadhoo Dive & Water Sports is designed for young adventurers aged 10 to 14, offering a safe and engaging introduction to scuba diving. This program adheres to the PADI Junior Open Water Diver curriculum, with specific adaptations to ensure the comfort and safety of younger participants as they explore the underwater realm. The curriculum includes essential knowledge development, confined water skill-building, and exhilarating open water dives.

Young divers will learn fundamental scuba skills in a controlled environment, such as a pool or very calm shallow waters, under the guidance of experienced instructors. These confined water sessions are crucial for building confidence and mastering techniques before progressing to open water. The open water dives take place in the beautiful Maldivian waters, allowing junior divers to practice their newly acquired skills while observing the vibrant marine life. Divers aged 10 and 11 can achieve a certification allowing dives up to 12 meters, while those aged 12 to 14 can reach depths of 18 meters, always under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional or a certified adult buddy.

Kamadhoo Dive & Water Sports is a PADI-certified dive center, ensuring that all training meets the highest international standards for safety and education. Upon successful completion of the course, participants earn their PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification. As they continue their diving journey, this certification can be readily upgraded to a full Open Water Diver certification once they reach the age of 15, allowing for greater depth and autonomy in future dives.
