In this program, Ocean Trek covers all course costs, excluding PADI fees and materials (approximately €400), and trainees gain invaluable practical experience, often completing 200-300 dives while learning the intricacies of dive center operations. Accommodation in a shared staff apartment is available for €280 per month. This option provides unparalleled exposure to the daily life of a dive center.

Alternatively, the "Ausbildung gegen Bezahlung" (paid training) option is a more intensive, shorter program, taking approximately 4-8 weeks for those without prior experience. This package costs €2,500 and includes course materials and PADI fees. It involves around 60-80 dives, focusing on practical skills in assisting instructors and leading groups. While this route is faster, it offers less immersion into the broader operational aspects of a dive center compared to the work-exchange program.

Tenerife's waters offer excellent conditions for dive training throughout the year. With sea temperatures averaging around 21°C, divers can comfortably train in wetsuits. The marine environment provides diverse opportunities for practicing dive leadership skills, from exploring shallow reefs to managing group dynamics in various underwater settings. The consistent water temperatures and generally good visibility make it an ideal location for developing the confidence and competence required of a PADI Divemaster.
