Discover Scuba Diving

Porthkerris offers the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program, an ideal introduction to the underwater realm for those curious about the marine environment. This experience is conducted under the direct supervision of a PADI-certified instructor, ensuring safety and confidence-building. Participants will engage in a theoretical session within the on-site classroom, followed by practical skill development in a protected shore dive area. The sea dive component, if chosen, takes place at the renowned shore dive site of Drawna Rock. This location offers a genuine introduction to a real dive environment, albeit in a closely monitored setting. The PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience is priced at £80 per person for the sea dive option, which includes comprehensive tuition and equipment hire. It serves as an accessible pathway to explore the wonders beneath the surface and is a potential first step towards further PADI qualifications.

While specific monthly sea temperatures are available, averaging around 12.9°C for the year, the focus of this introductory course is on fundamental scuba concepts and skills. The program aims to demystify scuba diving and build participant comfort. The PADI certification framework allows for this experience to potentially count towards a PADI Open Water Diver qualification, should participants decide to pursue full certification.
