Descrição do Curso
The PADI Divemaster course at Porthkerris Divers is your gateway to a professional diving career, marking the first step into PADI professional membership. This intensive program focuses on developing advanced academic knowledge, superior watermanship skills, and the stamina required for professional diving roles. You will refine your scuba skills to a demonstration level, ensuring you can perform and teach skills proficiently. Key components include mastering rescue procedures, developing underwater mapping skills, comprehensive dive planning, and leadership abilities, preparing you to anticipate and respond effectively to common dive problems.
At Porthkerris Divers, the preferred training method is through an internship, offering genuine day-to-day experience assisting instructors with real students and guiding certified divers. As a Divemaster Intern, you become an integral part of the Porthkerris team, gaining experience assisting with entry-level and advanced training, running Scuba Review and Local Orientation courses, and acting as a Divemaster on the centre's boats. You will also escort divers who may be nervous, rusty, or simply seeking company underwater. While demanding, this internship guarantees a wealth of practical experience and confidence.
Entry requirements include being a PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent, holding current CPR and first aid training, and having logged at least 40 dives upon enrolment (60 for certification). Medical approval from a physician is required, and candidates must be at least 18 years old. The course duration varies, with a minimum of six weeks recommended, and discussions are encouraged to tailor the program to your needs. The internship costs £850 plus materials (£250), which includes non-electric camping and air fills for course dives. Local accommodation can also be arranged.
Porthkerris Divers is a 5-star IDC Centre, offering clear pathways for further professional development, including Assistant Instructor and Instructor level training. The centre's location provides excellent diving conditions, with sea temperatures averaging 12.9°C annually, making it suitable for year-round training. The PADI Divemaster certification unlocks opportunities to work globally in the dive industry, leading certified divers on exciting underwater adventures and assisting PADI Instructors with student training.
