Try Out (Schnuppertauchen)

The Try Out runs in the pool at Montemare Obertshausen or Freibad Rottenberg — the same water the centre uses for all its beginner training. You get a theory session first covering pressure equalisation, how the equipment works and how to move underwater, then one pool dive with a Divemaster or Instructor in the water with you the whole time.

The pool goes to 2.2 metres, which is enough to get a real sense of breathing underwater with a regulator and feeling neutral without fighting the surface. It is not a snorkel session — you go down with proper scuba kit and experience what that actually feels like.

If you decide to continue with a full course within 12 months, the theory and pool session from the Try Out count toward the Open Water Diver or Scuba Diver programme, and the €75 is deducted from the course fee. It is a low-commitment way to find out whether diving is for you before paying for a full certification.

Minimum age is 10 years. The price includes the pool dive with complete equipment — no extras needed from you on the day.
