Open Water Diver

The three-day Open Water course at Koh Tao Scuba Club certifies you to dive to 18 meters anywhere in the world through SSI. It's built around four hours of theory, one pool session, four ocean dives, and a final written exam — a structured progression that gets you in open water by day two.

Day one covers classroom theory in the morning, then the pool session in the afternoon at the center. The pool work is done in a controlled environment before you head to the ocean, so by the time you do your first open-water dive on day two you've already run through the key skills. Days two and three take you to different Koh Tao dive sites each time — the center doesn't repeat sites within the same course.

The third day is the earliest departure: pick-up at 06:30, on the boat by 07:00, two morning dives, back to the school for lunch and the final exam. By 13:00 you're certified. Alumni who come back for the Advanced Adventurer program get 500 THB off.

All-inclusive at 9,500 THB: instructor, equipment, theoretical materials, insurance, SSI exam fee, international certification, daily snacks, refreshments, coffee, fresh fruit, free snorkel gear use, pick-up and drop-off, and a Koh Tao Scuba Club T-shirt. Package options with two or three nights' dorm accommodation at partner hostels in Mae Haad are also available.
