This program significantly enhances your understanding of diving principles and equipment, while cultivating vital leadership skills through practical workshops and hands-on experience assisting certified instructors with real students. It is meticulously designed to prepare you for diverse and exciting job opportunities across the globe.
Utilizing PADI eLearning, you will explore advanced dive theory, a self-paced component estimated to take 15-20 hours of dedicated study. The course curriculum includes confined water sessions where you will practice assisting instructors in various teaching scenarios, demonstrating skills proficiently and delivering clear briefings. This is followed by extensive open water training over several days, focusing on mastering site logistics, guiding certified divers safely, utilizing specialized equipment like lift bags, and actively assisting in both introductory and continuing education courses. These open water dives will take you to depths of up to 30 meters, aligning with PADI's standards for advanced training.
To embark on this professional journey, candidates must be at least 18 years old and hold PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver certifications, or their recognized equivalents. A current Emergency First Response (EFR) training completion within the last 24 months is mandatory, alongside a minimum of 40 logged dives to commence the course, with 60 dives required for final certification. A medical clearance signed by a physician is also a strict requirement. Ocean Turtle Diving is committed to the development of its Divemaster trainees, ensuring they are treated with respect and are not utilized as unpaid labor.
Upon successful completion of all requirements, you will earn the highly respected PADI Divemaster certification, the entry-level professional certification that opens doors to working as a dive professional worldwide. The course also incorporates timed swim assessments and comprehensive water skills evaluations to ensure physical competency. While students are expected to possess their own scuba equipment, essential items such as cylinders and weights are provided and included within the course fee. As a PADI 5-star Career Development Centre, Ocean Turtle Diving is uniquely positioned to facilitate your progression to the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) should you wish to continue your professional development.
