Underwater Photography

Capture the magic of the underwater world and share it with others through the Underwater Imaging specialty course at Tiedemann's Diving Center. This program focuses on the techniques and skills required to take compelling photos and videos beneath the surface, allowing divers to preserve their memories and showcase the beauty they encounter. Getting good underwater images can be challenging due to factors like light, visibility, and subject movement, but this course works with you personally to help you achieve stunning results.

The course includes one academic review session conducted at Tiedemann's Diving Center on Long Island. This is followed by two practical dives, which can be completed at Dutch Springs during one of their scheduled weekends or as part of one of Tiedemann's exciting dive trips. These sessions provide the opportunity to apply photographic and videographic techniques in various underwater settings, enhancing your ability to communicate the wonders of the underwater environment.

Participants can use their own cameras or, in some cases, utilize cameras provided by the center. The goal is to equip you with the knowledge to create visually captivating content. The instructors will guide you on capturing images that truly impress, whether you are interested in still photography or videography. This course is ideal for divers who want to document their experiences and develop a creative skill set.
