The curriculum is structured to provide a holistic learning experience. It encompasses in-depth knowledge development, covering critical areas such as dive theory, physics, physiology, equipment considerations, and environmental stewardship. Water skills and stamina exercises are integral, focusing on refining your swimming and diving proficiency to a professional standard. A significant portion of the training involves practical application, where you will actively assist PADI Instructors with student courses and gain experience supervising diving activities. This comprehensive approach ensures you are thoroughly prepared for the responsibilities and demands of a dive professional.
Key competencies developed during this course include advanced leadership and management abilities, crucial for effectively guiding dive groups and managing dive sites. To embark on this professional journey, candidates must be at least 18 years old and hold a PADI Rescue Diver certification or equivalent. Current First Aid and CPR training, completed within the last two years, is mandatory. You will need to have logged at least 40 dives to begin the course, with a minimum of 60 dives required for certification. A medical statement signed by a physician within the past 12 months is also a prerequisite. Upon successful completion, you will be eligible to enroll in the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course, marking the next step in your professional development.
