Initiation Apnée “Discover Freediving”

Plongée Phocéenne, located in the Vieux Port, offers the 'Initiation Apnée “Discover Freediving”' course, a perfect introduction to the world of freediving. This initiation is designed for anyone seeking a gentle first step into the discipline, with no prior technical requirements. You will explore the unique sensations of calm, relaxation, and a profound connection with yourself and the marine environment. The course includes a theory session covering essential safety basics, followed by practical exercises in static and dynamic apnea. Under the guidance of a certified instructor, you will learn effective breathing techniques and how to relax before immersion, progressing at your own pace. Dives will reach a maximum depth of 10 meters, adjusted to conditions and your comfort level, making it an ideal way to test freediving before committing to a full certification.

This experience is enhanced by the use of a boat equipped with a dedicated freediving pole, providing a stable support for the line and safety equipment, ensuring guided and progressive dives. The center maintains a strong emphasis on relaxation and mental preparation, with small groups limited to a maximum of 1 instructor for 4 participants to ensure safety and serenity. Digital underwater souvenir photos are included to capture your memorable moments. The water temperature in May averages 16.7°C and in October reaches 17.7°C, offering pleasant conditions for these initial explorations.

Participants should be comfortable in the water and able to swim at least 100 meters. A good physical condition is recommended, and a medical certificate of non-contraindication for freediving is required. The minimum age is 16, with parental authorization needed for minors. These initiations are available from May to October, aligning with the most favorable sea temperatures.

The price of 160 EUR covers the guided session, boat trip, the 'Discover Freediving' diploma, souvenir photos, pedagogical supervision by a certified Molchanovs instructor, and all necessary equipment including a neoprene suit, fins, mask, snorkel, weight belt, and weights. Plongée Phocéenne's convenient location in the Vieux Port provides direct access to showers and sanitary facilities, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish. The center also offers courses in English and French, catering to a diverse range of participants.
