Niveau 2 FFESSM

The Niveau 2 brevet allows autonomous diving with another N2-certified diver, opening up a broader range of sites and depths than the N1 companion-diver status. At Aqua Sports Plongée, N2 preparation is coordinated by Thomas SCHWAB (N4, Directeur Technique), with practical sessions structured around both pool work and dedicated open-water training days.

The fosse d'Ecrouves (54) features heavily in N2 preparation — the club documented a specific training day there in January 2026, with a progression from 6m entry work through to deeper sections. This kind of staged depth progression is typical of the federal approach: skills in controlled depth first, then extension. The Gravière du Fort also features in the calendar for N2 groups.

Theory classes follow the FFESSM national curriculum and are scheduled in the club's evening calendar, with downloadable materials available through the website. The N2 level covers physics, physiology, dive planning, and emergency management at greater depth than the N1 syllabus.

Candidates train as club members alongside more experienced divers, which means exposure to the club's full range of encadrants — several of whom hold MF1 and Nitrox Confirmé qualifications. The CMAS Niveau 2 is valid internationally.
