Open Water Diver

Lagoon Dive Club offers the PADI Open Water Diver (OWD) certification, the essential first step for exploring the underwater world independently. This globally recognized course provides the foundational skills and knowledge required for recreational scuba diving. You will learn how to operate dive equipment, master essential skills like buoyancy control and mask clearing, and understand dive planning and safety procedures. The curriculum is structured to build your confidence progressively over a typical 2-3 day period. The course combines theoretical knowledge development with practical sessions in confined water and four open water dives.

These open water dives are conducted at various sites around Bodufolhudhoo Island, providing a diverse introduction to the local marine environment. Upon successful completion, you will be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, enabling you to dive with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet) worldwide. This certification is your passport to a lifetime of underwater adventures and fosters a deeper appreciation for marine conservation.
