Embark on your underwater journey with the SSI Open Water Diver certification at Churaumi Dive MORGAN. You will achieve a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet), guided by experienced instructors who prioritize thorough training. The curriculum is divided into three key phases: knowledge development, confined water training, and open water dives. The theoretical component covers crucial aspects like dive physics, physiology, equipment usage, and safety protocols, often utilizing digital materials supplemented by in-person explanations and a knowledge assessment at the center. Practical skills are honed first in confined water sessions, which may take place in a pool or a calm, shallow area such as Gorilla Chop, allowing for close supervision as you master fundamental techniques.

Following confined water practice, you will transition to open water dives, typically conducted over two days at local sites like Gorilla Chop. These dives are where you apply your newly acquired skills in a real ocean environment, focusing on buoyancy control, underwater navigation, and emergency procedures. You'll have the opportunity to witness Okinawa's vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life firsthand. The instructors at Churaumi Dive MORGAN are committed to ensuring you feel competent and prepared by the course's conclusion.

Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the globally recognized SSI Open Water Diver certification card. This certification permits you to dive with a buddy to a depth of 18 meters and to rent or purchase scuba equipment.
