Open Water Diver

The PADI Open Water Diver certification is the most recognized entry-level scuba certification globally, and Splash Water Sports offers this comprehensive course year-round. This program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to dive safely to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet). The course typically spans 4 to 5 days, integrating online eLearning for theoretical knowledge with practical in-water sessions.

Your training will begin with eLearning, covering essential concepts such as dive physics, physiology, equipment, and dive planning. This allows you to learn at your own pace before the in-water components. The practical training includes confined water dives, usually in a pool, where you'll practice fundamental skills like mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy control, and emergency procedures. These sessions build your confidence and competence in a controlled environment.

Following the confined water sessions, you will progress to open water dives. These dives are conducted in actual dive sites, allowing you to apply the skills learned in a real-world setting. Instructors will guide you through various scenarios, ensuring you are comfortable and proficient in managing your dive. The course emphasizes safety, buddy procedures, and environmental awareness, preparing you for independent diving adventures.

Splash Water Sports offers this course in group settings, with multiple start dates available each month, including specific group classes scheduled for May, June, July, August, and September. The minimum age requirement is 10 years old, with "Junior" divers aged 10-15 receiving certification until they turn 16. This course is the gateway to exploring the underwater world, opening up opportunities for travel and adventure.

Upon successful completion, you will be a certified Open Water Diver, able to plan and execute dives with a buddy to 18 meters. This certification is your passport to countless underwater experiences worldwide. The course includes general scuba gear, but personal items like masks, fins, and snorkels are not included and should be acquired separately.
