Oferecido por Seahorse Dive Shop
Placencia, Stann Creek
Descrição do Curso
Embark on an extraordinary technical dive to the world-renowned Blue Hole, a geological marvel located approximately 65 miles from Placencia within the Lighthouse Reef Atoll. This full-day expedition, operated by Belize Scuba, departs early at 5:00 a.m. and returns at 5:00 p.m., offering a substantial 3-hour and 30-minute boat journey each way to reach this iconic site. The dive itself takes participants down to 130 feet along the sinkhole's wall, revealing ancient stalactites that hint at the cave system's terrestrial past. This challenging dive requires Advanced Open Water certification or equivalent, along with recent diving experience within the last six months, and completion of a Blue Hole Safety Screening Form.
Beyond the Blue Hole, this comprehensive trip includes two additional dives at distinct and vibrant locations. The second dive explores the Half Moon Caye Wall, celebrated for its rich tapestry of colorful sponges, sea fans, and corals, teeming with diverse marine life. Following this, the third dive is at Long Caye Wall, often called 'The Aquarium,' known for its abundant sponges, corals, and frequent sightings of rays, groupers, and sharks. These subsequent dives provide a contrast to the Blue Hole's unique geology, showcasing the rich biodiversity of the Belize Barrier Reef.
During the excursion, a welcome break is taken at the Half Moon Caye National Monument. Here, participants enjoy lunch on the beach and have the opportunity to observe nesting Red-footed Boobies and Frigate birds in their natural habitat. While certified divers explore the depths, snorkelers can appreciate the fringing reefs surrounding the Blue Hole area. The package is designed for convenience and includes all necessary diving equipment, breakfast, lunch, snacks, bottled water, juice, towels, park fees, hotel transfers from Placencia, and sales tax, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
This Blue Hole Dive trip is a signature offering from Belize Scuba, catering to experienced divers seeking to tick off one of the planet's most famous underwater landmarks. The technical nature of the dive, reaching depths of 130 feet, combined with the exploration of two other significant reef walls, makes this a full and rewarding day. The inclusion of wildlife observation and a beachside lunch adds a unique dimension to the diving adventure, making it a highlight for any diver visiting Belize and seeking an iconic underwater experience certified by PADI.
