Advanced Open Water

The Advanced Open Water Diver course runs over three days and builds directly on Open Water certification. The format at Argentario Divers puts students on the same boats and destinations used for regular guided dives — Giannutri, Giglio, or the Argentario coast — so the training dives happen in actual dive conditions rather than a contained training area.

The course improves buoyancy control, navigation, and comfort at depth, using the Argentario's varied seabed as the training environment. Rocky reef, mixed bottom, and the channel passages between the islands provide enough variety across the three days to cover the adventure dive modules in genuinely different conditions.

Argentario Divers offers both PADI and SSI versions of the Advanced course. The price ranges from €410 to €480 depending on whether equipment rental is included. The centre also runs the UTD Recreational 2 course (€650) as an alternative advanced path for divers who want to progress within the DIR system, certifying to 30 metres with Nitrox 32.

For divers already on the UTD track, the Essential of Recreational course (€750) is the recommended next step after any standard advanced certification, bridging recreational and DIR diving principles before moving into the technical programme.
