Open Water Diver

The PADI Open Water Diver certification is your passport to exploring the underwater world, and Dive Center Portobelo offers this foundational course with a focus on personalized instruction. You will gain the essential skills and knowledge to dive independently with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet). The curriculum is structured around online knowledge development, five confined water dives to practice fundamental skills, and four open water dives for real-world application and exploration.

This internationally recognized certification is achieved over a typical three-day period. Key requirements include being at least 13 years old, possessing good physical condition, and demonstrating comfort in the water. A medical questionnaire is part of the process, and a physician's clearance may be necessary depending on your health status. Dive Center Portobelo ensures a safe and supportive learning environment throughout your training.

Included in your course fee are all necessary boat transfers to the dive sites, the use of air tanks and weights, and all required scuba equipment for your practical training sessions. Supervised dives are conducted by a certified PADI Instructor, ensuring you receive expert guidance. The center also provides fresh water for refills, allowing you to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Upon successful completion of all course requirements, you will receive your official PADI Open Water Diver certification card. This qualification allows you to continue your diving education with advanced courses or simply enjoy independent diving adventures at any PADI dive center worldwide.
