The SSI Open Water Diver certification, offered by Hippocampus Diving Center, is the globally recognized standard for beginning your scuba diving journey. Upon successful completion, you will earn the SSI Open Water Diver certification, opening doors to countless diving adventures worldwide.

This course is structured over 3 to 4 days, allowing ample time for learning and practice. The training covers essential diving theory, including physics, physiology, and safety procedures, followed by confined water dives to master fundamental skills. The program aims to make you truly comfortable underwater, ensuring you can manage your equipment, buoyancy, and buddy procedures effectively. The maximum depth for this certification is 18 meters, suitable for exploring reefs and observing marine life.

The average sea temperature in the region varies significantly throughout the year, from a cooler 7.4°C in January to a peak of 28.1°C in August. For optimal comfort during your Open Water Diver course, the months of June through September, with sea temperatures ranging from 22.7°C to 28.1°C, are particularly well-suited for learning in a wetsuit. This allows for more relaxed practice sessions as you master essential skills like buoyancy control and equipment management at depths up to 18 meters.
