The PADI Divemaster course at Iguana Divers marks the initial step into professional diver training, catering to individuals passionate about scuba diving and aspiring to build a career or elevate their involvement. As a Divemaster, you transition into a leadership role, becoming a mentor and motivator for fellow divers. This program focuses on refining essential dive skills, including advanced buoyancy control and enhanced rescue techniques to proactively manage and resolve common diving challenges. You will acquire extensive theoretical knowledge and develop crucial management and supervision capabilities, preparing you to expertly lead diving activities and assist in diver training.
Iguana Divers structures this comprehensive program to include in-depth knowledge development sessions, practical water skills exercises, specialized workshops, and rigorous assessments. Participants will learn to effectively organize and direct a variety of scuba diving activities. This includes supervising dive operations, providing assistance to student divers during training, implementing risk management strategies, and creating detailed dive site maps. The curriculum also delves into the business aspects of the dive industry and promotes environmental stewardship.
To enroll in this professional development program, candidates must meet specific prerequisites. Applicants need to be at least 18 years old and hold a PADI Rescue Diver certification or an equivalent qualification. Furthermore, current Emergency First Response (EFR) training completed within the last 24 months is mandatory. A medical statement signed by a physician within the preceding 12 months and a minimum of 40 logged dives are also required to begin the course.
