Advanced Open Water

The NAUI Advanced Scuba Diver Certification course offered by American Diving is designed for certified divers seeking to enhance their underwater skills and explore new dive sites. Under the direct supervision of a NAUI Instructor, you will gain valuable experience and boost your confidence in various diving scenarios. This program provides an excellent opportunity to delve into specialized diving activities that align with your interests, preparing you for more complex underwater adventures. The curriculum includes a minimum of six open-water dives, focusing on essential skills and elective specialties.

Core training encompasses three critical dives: mastering navigation techniques, experiencing night or low-visibility diving, and executing deep dives up to 130 feet (40 meters). These foundational dives are complemented by three elective dives, allowing you to tailor the course to your specific preferences. Potential elective activities include search and recovery, boat diving, light salvage, hunting and collecting, exploration and underwater mapping, non-penetration wreck diving, observation and data collecting, diving in surf or currents, altitude diving, salt water diving, fresh water diving, shore diving, and utilizing dive computers. This flexibility ensures a personalized learning experience.

To enroll in this advanced program, divers must be at least 16 years of age and hold a current NAUI Scuba Diver certification or an equivalent. The course fee is $450, which covers the six offshore specialty dives conducted with an instructor over three trips. American Diving also offers a combined Advanced and Nitrox course for $650 plus dives, allowing participants to gain enriched air diving certification alongside their advanced training. This comprehensive package utilizes oxygen-enriched air for extended bottom times during your dives.
