The SSI Advanced Open Water Diver course at Merak Diving extends your certification to 30 m and broadens the range of sites and conditions you can handle. At 410€, it's a logical next step after Open Water if you want to access the deeper parts of the Merak programme.

The course involves a set of adventure dives that introduce specific skills — typically including deep diving and underwater navigation as core components. On the Merak site list, completing this course opens up places like the Junker 88 and Santa Clara wrecks, which sit at 40–46 m (those require further qualification), and intermediate sites in the 20–28 m range like Llosa dels Ocellers under the Cavalleria lighthouse and the deeper parts of the Fornells reserve.

The Menorca setting works well for an advanced course: the variety of dive profiles — walls, caverns, seamounts, wrecks — means each adventure dive can be done at a genuinely interesting site rather than a training flat. Confined water sessions if required take place at the centre's usual beginner sites near Mahón.
