Trimix Light 55

The Trimix Light 55 course at Fralomar Diving Center introduces technical divers to the use of Trimix, a blend of helium, oxygen, and nitrogen, for exploring depths down to 55 meters. This certification focuses on mitigating nitrogen narcosis and oxygen toxicity risks through advanced gas planning and decompression strategies. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of helium's properties and its impact on physiological responses during deep dives.

This specialized program emphasizes the practical application of Trimix gas mixes, including travel, bottom, and decompression gases. You will learn to calculate optimal gas compositions for specific dive profiles and manage gas consumption effectively for extended bottom times. The course covers essential theoretical aspects such as gas laws, deep diving physiology, and the specific equipment requirements for technical diving operations.

Practical training involves dives conducted at Fralomar's designated deep dive sites, allowing students to apply their newly acquired skills under direct instructor supervision. These dives will focus on executing planned decompression profiles and managing multiple gas cylinders.
