Mangamar Dive Center is a PADI 5-Star CDC (Career Development Center) located at the harbour of Cabo de Palos, in Murcia, Spain. With daily boat departures directly from the harbour, the centre provides easy access to some of the finest dive sites in the Mediterranean, including the Cabo de Palos and Islas Hormigas Marine Reserve, declared a national park in 1995.
The team of instructors speaks Spanish, English, Dutch, French, German and Italian, and maintains a maximum ratio of 5 divers per guide to ensure safety and quality on every dive. Four daily boat departures offer excellent flexibility to guests.
Among the most remarkable dive sites in the area are the historical wrecks: El Naranjito (a 51-metre cargo ship lying at depths of 28 to 42 metres), Carbonero, Stanfield and Candelero, WWI and WWII vessels that now shelter extraordinary marine life. At Bajo de Fuera, advanced divers can explore four wrecks clustered on the same reef.
The marine life encountered in these waters includes schools of fish, nudibranchs, groupers, turtles, barracudas, moray eels, eagle rays, mola mola (ocean sunfish) and dolphins.
The training programme covers all PADI levels, from Discover Scuba (from €75) for first-timers to Open Water Diver (from €495) and Advanced Open Water (from €449), through to professional courses including Divemaster (from €599), Instructor IDC (from €1,250), IDC Staff Instructor and Master Scuba Diver Trainer. The centre has its own Course Directors, enabling a complete professional training pathway on-site.
Mangamar also organises diving expeditions to international destinations such as Costa Rica and Baja California, making it a broader underwater adventure platform extending well beyond the Mediterranean. Equipment rental is available from €7, and a Nitrox upgrade costs €150 per year.
