Dry Suit Diver

You will learn how to manage the air within the suit for buoyancy, insulation, and trim, which differs significantly from wetsuit diving. The curriculum covers suit maintenance, donning and doffing procedures, and emergency management, including dry suit flooding and over-inflation. While Lanzarote is renowned for its generally mild climate, water temperatures can fluctuate. For instance, sea temperatures can drop to approximately 18°C during the winter months, as indicated by climate data showing averages around 18.3°C in December and 18.7°C in January. This specialty course equips you to comfortably explore these cooler conditions, extending your diving season and allowing for greater thermal protection. Atlantis Lanzarote offers this PADI specialty, leveraging their experienced instructors to ensure a thorough understanding of dry suit diving. The course typically involves three practical dives, allowing ample opportunity to practice the new skills learned. Participants will gain confidence in managing their buoyancy with a dry suit, a critical skill for maintaining stability and preventing uncontrolled ascents. The focus is on mastering these techniques in a controlled environment under the direct supervision of your instructor. Atlantis Lanzarote, a PADI certified dive center, ensures that all training adheres to PADI standards. Upon successful completion of the PADI Dry Suit Diver specialty, you will receive your certification, enabling you to dive in dry suits. This qualification is particularly beneficial for divers planning trips to colder regions or for those who simply prefer the comfort of staying dry underwater. The course fee of 275 EUR includes all necessary equipment, PADI materials, certification fees, and complimentary HD videos of your dives. What people ask before booking
PADI and DAN recommend a minimum of 12 hours after a single dive and 18 hours if multiple dives were made in the same day. We plan your last dive session considering your return flight time to avoid decompression sickness risk. If your return is tight, please inform us when booking.
For a 'Try Dive', filling out the PADI medical aptitude form on the same day is sufficient. For any certification course (Open Water and above), a medical certificate of fitness for diving signed by a doctor is required. If you have any pre-existing conditions, it's best to consult us before booking.
Yes. Soft contact lenses are perfectly compatible with a dive mask. If you prefer not to use them or have a high prescription, we have masks with prescription lenses available from -1 to -6 diopters (and higher upon request). Let us know your prescription when booking, and we'll have it ready.
Yes. Lanzarote has an operational hyperbaric chamber in Arrecife, a few kilometers from the center. All our staff follow DAN Europe protocols and are trained in CPR, first aid, and emergency oxygen. With this infrastructure, you can dive with complete peace of mind.
No. PADI certification is international and never expires. However, if you haven't dived for more than 12 months, we recommend a Reactivate program or a refresher dive to regain confidence and review basic skills before diving in a new environment.
With correct planning, up to 3 dives per day can be made, respecting the surface intervals indicated by dive tables or computers. Our instructors calculate your profile for each session to keep you within no-decompression limits, ensuring you reach the last dive safely and rested.
All our activities include diving accident insurance according to current regulations, covering immediate medical attention and the hyperbaric chamber. If you dive frequently, we recommend additionally contracting an annual DAN Europe insurance, which also covers medical evacuation and rescue.
