The Dry Suit Diver specialty course offered by ASD Club Sub Amici del Mare provides divers with the essential skills and knowledge to comfortably and safely explore colder water environments. This specialty focuses on the unique aspects of diving with a dry suit, a crucial skill for extending your diving season and comfort. Participants will learn the specific techniques for donning and doffing the suit, mastering buoyancy control which differs significantly from wetsuit diving, and managing air within the suit for optimal performance. The course emphasizes understanding the advantages of dry suit diving, such as enhanced thermal protection leading to longer and more enjoyable dives, while also addressing potential challenges like over-inflation or under-inflation and how to manage them effectively.
This specialty training is particularly relevant for divers planning to explore temperate or cold water regions, or for those who simply prioritize comfort and extended dive times regardless of water temperature. By mastering the dry suit, you open up new possibilities for diving in various locations and seasons, significantly broadening your diving horizons. The curriculum is designed to build confidence and proficiency, ensuring you can handle the nuances of dry suit operation in diverse underwater conditions. ASD Club Sub Amici del Mare aims to equip you with the expertise needed to fully appreciate the benefits of dry suit diving.
While the specific dive sites for the practical sessions are not detailed, the course curriculum covers essential skills such as maintaining proper trim and buoyancy control throughout the dive. Practical training involves supervised dives where participants actively practice using the dry suit in a controlled setting. You will learn to adjust buoyancy by managing the air within the suit, execute safe ascents and descents, and perform emergency procedures tailored to dry suit diving. This hands-on approach ensures you gain practical experience and confidence.
