The PADI Open Water Diver course at Frog Dive is your globally recognized certification to explore the underwater world. This foundational program is meticulously designed to build your confidence and skills over multiple days, ensuring a thorough understanding of scuba principles. Frog Dive offers flexible scheduling, including weekend starts and intensive 3-day full-time options, catering to various learning paces. The course emphasizes a hands-on approach, with instructors dedicated to providing personalized attention and ensuring you master essential techniques in a safe environment.

Your training begins with comprehensive pool sessions, allowing you to practice fundamental skills like mask clearing, regulator recovery, and buoyancy control without the complexities of open water. Frog Dive provides unlimited free pool training if you feel the need for extra practice, ensuring you are fully prepared. Following the pool phase, you will complete four open water dives, typically conducted at popular training sites such as Clifton Gardens in Mosman and Shelly Beach in Manly. These locations are chosen for their calm conditions and rich marine biodiversity, offering an excellent introduction to real diving scenarios.

Participants must first complete the PADI eLearning knowledge development online at their own convenience, covering dive theory, physics, and safety. The practical training requires you to be at least 12 years old, pass a medical questionnaire, and demonstrate basic water skills, including swimming 200 meters or floating for 10 minutes. The course fee of 595 AUD includes your PADI eLearning pass, logbook, free diving boots, and essential gear hire, excluding mask and snorkel. You will need to provide your own mask and snorkel, available for purchase at the dive shop starting from $65.

Upon successful completion, you will receive your PADI eCard, opening the door to countless underwater adventures worldwide. This certification allows you to dive independently with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters. The skills learned in the PADI Open Water Diver course are directly transferable to more advanced training, such as the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, enabling you to explore deeper dive sites and encounter a wider array of marine life.
