PADI Rescue Diver

The PADI Rescue Diver course at Snorkel- en Duiksportcentrum Kontiki Diving is designed to significantly enhance your safety awareness and problem-solving capabilities underwater. This technically demanding yet exceptionally rewarding program transforms you into a more confident and capable diver, ready to assist others in distress. You will learn advanced techniques for self-rescue, recognizing and managing stress in fellow divers, and executing emergency procedures. The curriculum focuses on accident prevention and systematic responses to rescue scenarios, making you a more valuable buddy.

During this course, you will master skills such as assisting panicked and unresponsive divers, managing dive-related emergencies, and using specialized rescue equipment. The training emphasizes proactive measures to avoid accidents, providing you with the systematic approaches needed for effective rescue operations. It is widely considered the most challenging course divers undertake, but also the most worthwhile, fundamentally shifting your perspective on dive safety and personal responsibility.

To enroll, you must be at least 12 years old and have completed the PADI Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive. A crucial prerequisite is a current Emergency First Response (EFR) or equivalent CPR and first aid certification, completed within the last 24 months. Additionally, a physician's medical statement confirming your fitness to dive, dated within the last 12 months, is mandatory. Before earning your certification, you will need to have logged a minimum of 40 dives, ensuring you possess substantial practical experience.
