Certification Niveau 1 FFESSM (PE20)

The Molchanovs Wave 1 certification, equivalent to AIDA 2, is your entry point into the world of progressive and internationally recognized freediving, offered by Plongée Phocéenne. This foundational course is designed for beginners, guiding you to safely explore depths of up to 20 meters in natural environments. You will learn essential freediving techniques, including static apnea (STA) with a target of 1 minute 30 seconds, dynamic apnea (DYNB/DNF) with and without fins, and crucial descent methods like the duck dive. The curriculum emphasizes understanding your body's response to breath-holding, mental preparation, and mastering controlled immersion techniques.

Safety is paramount throughout the Molchanovs Wave 1 program. You will receive comprehensive training in buddy system protocols, safety procedures, and rescue techniques, preparing you to be a responsible and capable freediving partner. Upon successful completion, you will be certified to practice freediving independently up to 20 meters, participate in deep pool and open water sessions, and confidently progress to the Molchanovs Wave 2 level. This certification is highly valued and available at a limited number of clubs in France, including Plongée Phocéenne.

Plongée Phocéenne provides an optimal learning environment for this course, which runs from May to October. The water temperature in July reaches a comfortable 24.3 °C, ideal for extended practice sessions. The course includes four guided sessions, boat transfers to dive sites, access to the online Molchanovs theory platform, and personalized pedagogical support. Small group sizes and supervision by a certified Molchanovs instructor ensure a secure and serene atmosphere, with a boat equipped with a specialized freediving pole for added safety and comfort during your training.

All necessary freediving equipment, including a wetsuit, fins, mask, snorkel, weight belt, and weights, is provided for the duration of the course. Participants are asked to bring their swimwear, a towel, hat, water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, and sunglasses, along with warm clothing for cooler weather. The price of €360 covers the training, equipment, facility access, and theoretical materials. An additional €30 fee applies for the international Wave 1 certification card itself. This course is an excellent stepping stone for anyone looking to develop a solid foundation in freediving and explore the underwater realm with confidence and skill.
