Cursos Disponíveis
5 cursosTry Scuba (Pool)
The pool Try Scuba at Buddycheck is the lowest-friction entry point into scuba diving available here. Sessions run at the Aquamathe in Letmathe during winter months, and at the outdoor pools Heidebad or Schleddenhof in summer — so there's no waiting for the right season. Before getting in the water, participants go through a short briefing on equipment and basic techniques at the poolside. The session is supervised by an SSI-certified instructor throughout. Equipment is provided by the school — mask, fins, BCD, regulator, tank — so there's nothing to bring beyond a swimsuit and a medical declaration form, which needs to be completed in advance. At 34 EUR for the pool version, this is the most affordable way to find out whether scuba diving is something worth pursuing further. The Try Scuba Open Water version, held at the Sorpesee or Möhnesee, costs 59 EUR and gives a first taste of lake diving conditions rather than a controlled pool environment. For groups — corporate events, families, team-building — Buddycheck also organises Try Scuba sessions as a dedicated group activity, with multiple participants going through the experience together under instructor supervision.
SSI Open Water Diver
The SSI Open Water Diver at Buddycheck is the full entry-level certification, globally recognised and valid at SSI centres around the world. Theory is covered through SSI's online digital learning platform, which students can start immediately and work through at their own pace before the in-water sessions begin. Pool sessions take place at the Aquamathe in Letmathe (winter) or at the Heidebad and Schleddenhof outdoor pools (summer), depending on the time of year. Open-water dives to complete the certification are conducted at the Sorpesee and Möhnesee — the two local lakes that Buddycheck uses regularly for training and recreational diving. Instruction is in German, by SSI-certified instructors. Rental equipment from the school's inventory is included in the course price, described as top-maintained gear. Course scheduling is flexible and coordinated individually with the instructor — there's no fixed calendar to slot into, which makes it practical for people with irregular work schedules. At 429 EUR, the course price includes the digital training kit (89 EUR separately). A combined Open Water Diver plus Enriched Air Nitrox package is available for 499 EUR, which makes sense if you're planning to continue diving immediately after certification.
SSI Scuba Diver
The SSI Scuba Diver is a shorter certification than the Open Water Diver, covering theory through online learning and including dives in both pool and open water. At Buddycheck, the open-water component takes place at the Sorpesee or Möhnesee. This certification is designed for divers who want to get in the water and dive with a professional, rather than diving independently. It's a practical choice for someone who isn't sure yet how deeply they'll pursue the sport, or who wants a faster route to being able to dive on holiday under guidance. At 239 EUR, it's significantly cheaper than the full Open Water Diver. Buddycheck also offers a direct upgrade path from Scuba Diver to Open Water Diver for 160 EUR, so the qualification can be extended later without starting from scratch. A Referral Diver option at the same price (239 EUR) allows students to complete all theory and pool training in Germany at Buddycheck, then finish the open-water component at a dive centre abroad — useful if someone is planning a dive holiday and wants to arrive already through the pool phase.
Specialty Apnoe
The SSI Stress and Rescue specialty at Buddycheck costs 299 EUR — the most expensive specialty on the price list apart from the professional-track Dive Guide course. That price point reflects the scope of the content: recognising stress in fellow divers, preventing accidents, and managing real emergency scenarios underwater and at the surface. At Buddycheck, this course is part of the pathway toward the SSI Master Diver package, which also requires the Deep Diving specialty. It's positioned here as a course that meaningfully upgrades a diver's capability rather than just adding a card to the wallet. In-water scenarios and rescue practice would take place using the school's usual training venues — pool facilities in Letmathe, and open-water sessions at the Sorpesee or Möhnesee. The course follows the SSI curriculum, with digital learning materials available (the SSI Specialty Stress und Rescue Digital Kit is listed separately at 114 EUR, suggesting the kit is not automatically included in the 299 EUR course price — worth confirming with the school). For divers planning to continue toward Dive Guide or who simply want a stronger safety background before heading on the school's Egypt liveaboard trips, this is the course that makes the most practical difference.
Dive Guide
The SSI Dive Guide course at Buddycheck is the first step on the professional track — the entry point for anyone who wants to lead certified divers in the water and eventually move into instructor training. At 349 EUR, it's the school's primary professional-level offering alongside the longer-term Dive Professional pathway. Dive Guide training covers dive planning, group management, and the skills required to safely guide certified divers at local sites. At Buddycheck, that practical experience comes at the Sorpesee and Möhnesee, where the school runs its regular guided dives and training sessions. Knowing those lakes well is part of what the course builds toward. The SSI system links dive guide qualification to logged experience: a combination of specialty courses and a minimum number of logged dives is required to progress. Buddycheck is explicit that this is what distinguishes SSI-trained professionals — certification tied to actual dive experience, not theory alone. The school's description of the Dive Professional track notes the possibility of working on liveaboards, in dive resorts, or specialising in areas like underwater photography or technical diving after the guide qualification. The Digital Kit for Dive Guide training is listed separately at 98 EUR.
