The baptism dive at Le Brusc Plongée takes place in the Embiez Archipelago, most often at Les Magnons–Les Grottes — a shallow site between 3 and 20 m that the center describes as their preferred spot for this kind of first contact. The immersion itself stays within the 0–6 m zone and lasts around 30 minutes, led by a state-certified instructor throughout. No prior experience, medical certificate, or FFESSM licence is required. The minimum age is 8. Children between 8 and 10 are kept to a maximum of 2 m on their first immersion; those between 10 and 14 years old are taken to a maximum of 3 m. Adults pay €95, families or groups of more than 3 pay €90 per person, and participants under 14 pay €85. At Les Magnons–Les Grottes, first-timers typically see schools of castagnoles and sars, sea stars, sea urchins, and — with a bit of luck — an octopus, a moray, a grouper, or even a barracuda passing through. The site is sheltered and the marine life is genuinely present at snorkeling depth, which makes it a solid first dive rather than a scenic disappointment. The baptism can also be included within the Pack Découverte (€250), which covers three initiation sessions mixing scuba, freediving, and snorkeling.
Pack découverte
The Pack Découverte at Le Brusc Plongée bundles three initiation sessions — which can combine scuba diving, freediving, and snorkeling — all conducted in the 0–6 m zone. No licence or prior medical certificate is needed, and the baptism dive in scuba gear can be included in the package. Minimum age is 8 if any scuba activity is selected. All sessions take place on the Embiez Archipelago sites, which is a Natura 2000 protected zone. At this shallow depth range, participants encounter schools of castagnoles and sars, sea urchins, sea stars, and sporadic visits from groupers or barracuda. The variety of activities in one package gives a more rounded introduction to underwater sports than a single baptism alone. The package is guided by state-certified instructors in a center that explicitly values a family-friendly, convivial atmosphere. Children's depth limits apply: 2 m maximum for the first immersion for those aged 8–10, and 3 m for those aged 10–14.
Plongeur encadré à 12 mètres (PE12)
The PE20 – Niveau 1 is the foundational FFESSM/ANMP certification at Le Brusc Plongée, structured over 5 dives on the Embiez Archipelago sites. On completing it, you can dive to 20 m within a group led by a Guide de Palanquée who manages the dive. Minimum age at certification is 12, with parental consent required for minors. The dives take place on multi-level Embiez sites — most likely a mix of the shallower Magnons spots and the mid-range sites like Les Basses de la Moulinière or La Classique, where Mediterranean fauna is genuinely representative: groupers, moray eels, red gorgonians, barracuda, lobsters in the crevices. A CACI medical certificate (less than one year old) is required before starting any FFESSM formation. The center's family-scale structure and state-certified instructor team means groups are small and the teaching environment is relaxed. Five dives is enough to get your bearings on the Embiez sites and leave knowing what to expect when you come back with a more advanced certification.
Plongeur encadré à 20 mètres (PE 20) - niveau 1
The PA20 certification adds autonomy to the 20 m range over 6 dives in the natural environment of the Embiez Archipelago. With this brevet, you dive in a buddy pair or trio of adults with equivalent certification, without a guide managing the dive. The Embiez sites between 12 and 27 m — La Classique, Les Basses de la Moulinière — are the natural terrain for this step. Entry requires the PE20/Niveau 1 (or equivalent) and at least 4 attested open-water dives. Minimum age at certification is 16, though autonomous diving privileges only apply from age 18. Parental consent is required for minors. A CACI medical certificate is mandatory before starting. The center also offers a combined PA20 + PE40 + Nitrox package (Niveau 2) at €670 for 9 dives, which makes sense given the range of Embiez sites that open up past 20 m — La Pierre du Jas at 26–38 m, Le Plateau à Mérous at 23–33 m, and the wrecks La Mona and Le Maraudeur both starting at 28 m.
Nitrox de base
The basic nitrox course at Le Brusc Plongée covers theory plus one dive in the field, priced at €100. Given that the Embiez wreck sites — La Mona at 28–35 m, Le Maraudeur at 32–45 m, L'Arroyo at 25–36 m — are exactly the kind of dives where extended bottom time matters, this course has immediate practical application here. Nitrox fills are available on-site for 12-liter and 15-liter tanks, and there is an €8 per-dive nitrox supplement for exploration dives. The confirmed nitrox course (theory + 3 dives) runs €270 for divers who want a more thorough grounding in planning and gas management at depth.
Open Water Diver
The SSI Open Water Diver course at Le Brusc Plongée runs over 6 dives — 6 sessions in a protected environment and 4 in open water on the Embiez Archipelago sites — and delivers an internationally recognized certification valid to 18 m worldwide. The SSI kit (digital materials and certification) costs an additional €120. E-learning is available as part of the programme. From age 10 anyone can start. The SSI approach the center describes as making diving safe and fun for the whole family, and the Embiez Natura 2000 sites provide the open-water component: Mediterranean fauna at manageable depths, boat access from the center's dock 50 meters away. The international validity of the SSI Open Water card distinguishes this path from the FFESSM options for divers planning to travel. Once certified, graduates can dive autonomously to 18 m with a buddy of equivalent certification anywhere SSI is recognized.
Deep diving
The SSI Deep Diving specialty at Le Brusc Plongée is structured over 3 dives and covers planning and execution of dives between 18 and 40 m, including gas consumption calculations and dive computer use. The €90 SSI kit is additional. With sites like La Pierre du Jas (26–38 m), La Merveilleuses (23–40 m), and La Pierre à Christian (28–50 m) all accessible from the Eurybie, this specialty has direct application on the local dive map. Gorgonian-covered walls, groupers retreating into fissures, the occasional Mola-Mola — the Embiez deep sites give you something real to practice on, not a training quarry. The center uses both boats to reach these sites, with the Moustache's speed and the Eurybie's capacity and range covering different dive day formats.
Diver stress & Rescue
The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue specialty runs over 6 dives and covers stress identification, accident prevention, and practical rescue techniques including emergency care. The SSI kit costs an additional €100. It is the most dives-intensive specialty the center offers in their SSI catalog. The center also offers the companion React Right first aid programme (€200 + €90 SSI kit, one day) covering initial assessment, CPR, oxygen administration, and AED basics — the two courses naturally complement each other and the center lists them adjacently. For divers building toward a more advanced FFESSM path, the Secourisme/RIFA Plongée course (€170, half-day) is a prerequisite for the PA60/Niveau 3 certification.
