OPEN WATER

The Open Water course at Scubafriends Tenerife is run by PADI-certified instructors in Italian, Spanish, and English, within the framework of a PADI 5 Stars IDC Center authorized by the Gobierno de Canaria. Course Director Salvatore Giglione oversees the program, and the teaching approach here emphasizes quality over volume — the center explicitly states it does not chase high certification numbers.

Groups for courses are capped at five or six students, keeping instructor attention real rather than theoretical. Tenerife's Atlantic conditions — clear water, year-round diving, no extreme currents for entry-level sites — make it a practical place to do an Open Water rather than a rushed holiday course.

The PADI Open Water certification obtained here is valid globally. Graduates looking to continue immediately can move into the Advanced Open Water track, also offered by the center with packages from €399.
