Plongeur encadré à 20 mètres (PE 20) - niveau 1

The PA20 certification adds autonomy to the 20 m range over 6 dives in the natural environment of the Embiez Archipelago. With this brevet, you dive in a buddy pair or trio of adults with equivalent certification, without a guide managing the dive. The Embiez sites between 12 and 27 m — La Classique, Les Basses de la Moulinière — are the natural terrain for this step.

Entry requires the PE20/Niveau 1 (or equivalent) and at least 4 attested open-water dives. Minimum age at certification is 16, though autonomous diving privileges only apply from age 18. Parental consent is required for minors. A CACI medical certificate is mandatory before starting.

The center also offers a combined PA20 + PE40 + Nitrox package (Niveau 2) at €670 for 9 dives, which makes sense given the range of Embiez sites that open up past 20 m — La Pierre du Jas at 26–38 m, Le Plateau à Mérous at 23–33 m, and the wrecks La Mona and Le Maraudeur both starting at 28 m.
