Niveau 1 (PE20)

The French Level 1 certification, known as PE20 (Plongeur Encadré 20 meters), is the foundational diving qualification offered by Diving Calvi. This certification allows individuals aged 12 and above to explore underwater environments up to a depth of 20 meters, always under the direct supervision of a qualified instructor. The program is meticulously designed to build a strong understanding of diving techniques and paramount safety protocols.

This comprehensive course includes a total of five dives spread across five half-days, ensuring ample practice and skill consolidation. The initial phase involves two sessions conducted in a controlled, shallow environment at a depth of 5 meters, each lasting approximately 45 minutes. These sessions are crucial for mastering fundamental skills. Subsequently, three dives will take place in natural marine settings, accessed by boat, progressively reaching depths of 12 meters and finally the certification limit of 20 meters. These open-water dives allow students to apply their newly acquired abilities in increasingly challenging yet safe conditions.

Upon successful completion of the PE20 course, participants will be awarded a lifelong certification. This qualification is recognized throughout France and holds international equivalence to the Open Water Diver certification, making it a globally accepted standard. This level serves as an excellent stepping stone for further advanced training, such as the PE40 or Level 2 courses, and grants access to more advanced dive sites, including historical locations like the B-17 wreck.
