Advanced Open Water Diver

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course at Discovery Divers is your next step in expanding your underwater capabilities. This program builds directly on your Open Water Diver skills, introducing you to five distinct adventure dives. Two dives are mandatory: Deep Diving, which teaches you to plan and execute dives to depths of 30 meters (100 feet) and beyond while managing physiological effects, and Underwater Navigation, focusing on refining compass skills and using natural cues for precise navigation. These dives are conducted in the local dive sites accessible from Discovery Divers' base.

Beyond the core requirements, you will select three additional adventure dives tailored to your interests. Options often include wreck exploration, night diving, peak performance buoyancy control, underwater photography, or drift diving, among others. Each adventure dive serves as the first dive of its respective PADI Specialty Diver course, offering a streamlined path to further specialization. This course is certified by PADI, a globally recognized leader in diver training.

To enroll, you must hold a PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent from another agency and be at least 12 years old. If you've already completed the PADI Adventure Diver course, you only need to complete two more adventure dives to achieve the Advanced Open Water Diver certification. The theoretical components for several popular adventure dives can be conveniently accessed through PADI eLearning, allowing you to prepare at your own pace before joining the practical sessions.

This course is designed to increase your self-assurance by providing supervised experience in new diving situations and environments.
