SSI Explorers (Scuba Rangers)

The SSI Explorers programme at Hidrospot is designed for children between 8 and 12 years old. Sessions run in the pool or confined water areas at a maximum depth of 5 metres — the safety boundaries are built into the programme structure, not left to discretion on the day.

The programme focuses on objectives-based learning and team skills alongside the diving itself. Instructors who teach it hold specific qualifications for working with this age group. Hidrospot's general safety baseline — React Right and oxygen administration certification across all staff — applies here too.

Price is on request; contact the centre directly for current rates and scheduling. The programme runs under the SSI Explorers umbrella and leads to the Explorer recognition level on completion.

For families based in Porto or Gaia where children want an introduction to the water beyond swimming lessons, this is one of the few structured junior diving programmes available in the area.
