Kursbeschreibung

The Emergency First Response (EFR) Primary and Secondary Care course is designed to equip individuals with the essential skills to respond confidently and effectively to medical emergencies. This specialty course, offered by Bucea en Bilbao, focuses on building confidence in lay rescuers, ensuring they are willing and able to assist when faced with a critical situation. Participants will learn easy-to-follow steps for emergency care, practicing vital techniques in a supportive, stress-free environment. The curriculum is enhanced by self-study materials, instructional videos, and quick reference cards, facilitating immediate engagement and reinforcing learning.

Primary Care, which includes CPR, teaches the critical steps and techniques for managing life-threatening emergencies. You will practice eight essential skills, covering scenarios such as unresponsive individuals, those not breathing, potential spinal injuries, shock management, and severe bleeding control. A key component is learning and practicing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to maintain patient stability until professional medical services arrive, significantly increasing the chances of survival.

Secondary Care focuses on addressing conditions that are not immediately life-threatening but still require prompt first aid. This part of the course trains you to provide care that alleviates pain and minimizes the risk of further complications. You will learn to assess a wide range of injuries and illnesses, and gain hands-on experience with essential first aid procedures like bandaging and splinting techniques. These skills are invaluable for anyone wanting to be prepared for unexpected medical events.

Completing the EFR Primary and Secondary Care course fulfills the first aid and CPR training prerequisites for the PADI Rescue Diver course and all PADI professional-level ratings. Many PADI Instructors are also EFR Instructors, ensuring a high standard of training that aligns with global diving education. The practical skills acquired are not only crucial for divers but are universally applicable, empowering anyone to provide immediate assistance in everyday medical emergencies.
