The PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course at Divers Diving lets certified divers extend their no-decompression limits by diving on oxygen-enriched mixes, typically 32% or 36% oxygen. Price is on request — contact the center directly for the current figure.
On the Costa Brava, nitrox makes a practical difference at sites like La Llosa de Palamós where the interesting structure sits between 20 and 30 meters. More bottom time at depth without pushing into decompression territory means you get more out of each dive on a multi-dive day.
The course is primarily theory and table/computer analysis rather than a large number of training dives. You'll learn to analyze mixes, set your dive computer correctly and understand the oxygen toxicity limits that come with enriched air. Divers Diving has nitrox fills available on site, so the practical side of the course flows directly into your next dive.
Any PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent can enrol. The course is short enough to fit into a day, making it a realistic add-on during a diving holiday in Platja d'Aro.
