The SSI Try Freediving course at the Niklinder Centre is your first step into the world of freediving. This one-hour workshop will teach you the basic breathing and mental techniques to stay underwater for as long as possible on a single breath. You will receive access to a digital SSI Try Freediving Kit to help you deepen your knowledge. If you decide to take a further course after this taster session, the 20 EUR you paid for this course will be credited towards it. This is an excellent opportunity to discover the fascination of freediving and gain initial experience in a safe and supportive environment.

Water temperatures in the region vary significantly throughout the year, which is important for freedivers. While the summer months are the warmest with an average of 20.1°C in August, temperatures drop to as low as 2.9°C in January. This means that for courses outside of the summer months, appropriate cold-water equipment, such as a wetsuit, is necessary to ensure comfort and safety. The exact dive sites and associated visibility depend on the prevailing conditions, but the centre strives to utilize the best local conditions for your learning experience.
