Public Safety Diver 1

Hidrospot runs the full four-level SSI Public Safety Diver programme, designed for professional divers working in emergency services — firefighters, police, military. Level 1 covers foundational skills; Level 2 adds deep diving, search and recovery techniques; Level 3 includes decompression diving below 40 metres using air or trimix; Level 3 Overhead covers rescue operations in enclosed environments such as caves and caverns.

Vitor Sequeira, Hidrospot's technical director, holds Public Safety Diver Instructor certification alongside his Extended Range Trimix and SSI Instructor Trainer ratings. Running this programme credibly requires that level of technical background, and the centre has it. Rui Belchior also holds the Professional Diver qualification.

This is not a programme you'd find at most recreational dive centres. The fact that Hidrospot delivers it — including the overhead and decompression levels — reflects the technical orientation of the centre's senior staff. Pricing is on request.

The programme is relevant to any diver working or training in public safety roles in Portugal. The centre is licensed by IPDJ I.P., which matters for the official recognition of professional training in Portuguese jurisdiction.
