Stress & Rescue Diver
Elevate your diving capabilities with the Stress & Rescue Diver course at Scubakreta, a highly regarded technical level certification. This course is designed to equip you with the essential skills to prevent and manage diving emergencies, transforming you into a more confident and responsible diver. You will learn to identify signs of stress in yourself and others, react effectively to various rescue scenarios, and provide crucial assistance to fellow divers. The curriculum emphasizes proactive problem-solving and developing rapid reflexes for critical situations, making you an invaluable dive buddy. During the typically 2 to 3-day program, you will engage in 10 practical rescue exercises covering a spectrum of potential issues, from assisting tired or unresponsive divers to managing equipment malfunctions and executing surface rescues. The training culminates in two comprehensive scenarios that integrate all learned skills, often in conjunction with Emergency First Response (EFR) training. Scubakreta utilizes SSI digital support materials to detail the techniques and procedures for each rescue situation, ensuring a thorough understanding of emergency protocols. To enroll in this vital course, you must hold an Advanced Open Water Diver certification and have completed an EFR course within the past 24 months. Scubakreta also offers EFR training if needed. The course fee of 480 EUR includes the necessary diving equipment and instruction from experienced, English-speaking instructors. Mastering these rescue techniques not only significantly enhances your personal safety but also that of everyone you dive with, preparing you for further professional development like Divemaster or Master Scuba Diver. The waters around Crete offer excellent conditions for this type of training. While specific monthly temperatures vary, the average sea temperature is around 20.1°C, with warmer months like June, July, and August reaching up to 28.3°C, providing comfortable conditions for practicing rescue skills. The focus is on building competence and confidence, ensuring that by the end of the course, you are significantly better prepared to handle unexpected situations underwater, making you a more capable and sought-after member of any dive group.

What people ask before booking
The Discover Scuba Diving is an introductory program for those who want to try scuba diving without committing to a full certification course. It's a quick and easy way to experience breathing underwater and exploring the marine world under the close supervision of an instructor. While not a certification, it can be credited towards your first diving certification if you decide to continue.
Participants must be at least 10 years old and be in reasonable physical health. No prior diving experience is necessary. You will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire upon arrival.
The program typically lasts between 2.5 to 3 hours. Morning sessions usually start at 9:30 AM, and afternoon sessions begin at 1:30 PM. The dive itself takes place at the House Reef, accessible from the shore.
The price of 80€ includes the use of suitable diving equipment for the course, an English-speaking instructor, online diving theory, and a recognition card upon completion. If you decide to enroll in the Open Water course afterward, the cost of the Discover Scuba Diving program will be credited towards it.
To join guided dives as a certified diver, you need at least an Open Water certification. If you don't have any certification yet, you can start with the Discover Scuba Diving program or enroll in the Open Water course.
You should bring your diving certification card and your logbook. If you are affiliated with PADI, they can usually find your details in their system with your name and birthdate. For other federations, your physical certification card is essential. If you don't have your card, you can still participate in the Discover Scuba Diving program.
Scubakreta offers various dive packages, such as Pack 4 Dives (220€), Pack 6 Dives (295€), and Pack 10 Dives (440€), all including full equipment. Discounts are applied if you bring your own gear. Special dives like the Messerschmitt Wreck and Paksimadi Island trips are also available for experienced divers.
To enroll in the Rescue Diver course, you must be at least 12 years old, certified as Advanced Open Water Diver, and have completed an Emergency First Response (CPR and first aid) training within the last 24 months. This EFR training can also be completed with Scubakreta.
