Niveau 1 (PE20)
The Niveau 1 (PE20) course at Randomarine covers five boat dives around Hyères and the Îles d'Or, qualifying the diver to descend to 20 metres under instructor supervision. Ludovic Gallas holds a DEJEPS state diploma and runs groups of a maximum four divers, which means the five dives aren't spread thin across a large class. Minimum age is 12 years. Entry requires either a prior baptism or demonstrated comfort in the water with fins, mask and snorkel. A CACI medical certificate from a doctor is required before the course starts. The 490€ price includes all five dives, full equipment, liability insurance through AXA Lafont, a dive log and the ANMP Niveau 1 certification card. Optional FFESSM certification is available with a 50€ licence surcharge. Individual dive insurance through AXA Lafont is available on request but not compulsory. Sites are chosen on the day based on conditions — Porquerolles, Giens or Port-Cros. Working in the protected bays and varied terrain around the Îles d'Or gives the Niveau 1 student a range of environments across the five dives rather than the same site repeated five times.
Niveau 2 (PA20 + PE40)
Eight dives from 20 to 60 metres, plus the RIFAP first-aid module for divers — that's what's included in the Niveau 3 at Randomarine. The combined package means you finish the course with both the N3 autonomous certification and a recognised dive rescue qualification. No separate first-aid course to organise elsewhere. Entry requires Niveau 2, a minimum of 40 logged dives (at least 10 in the 40-metre range), a personal dive computer and familiarity with its use, and a sports medicine or fédéral doctor's medical certificate. Minimum age 18. The sites off Hyères and the Îles d'Or include water deep enough to cover the full depth range of the course, which runs progressively from the shallower sections up to 60 metres. Ludo holds the DEJEPS E4 qualification — the instructor grade required to supervise dives at this depth. The 690€ covers all eight dives, full equipment, insurance and ANMP certification. FFESSM licence option available at 50€ extra. For divers already operating at N2 level looking to push toward deeper autonomous diving, the course here works within the same small-group framework. The RIFAP component is particularly useful for anyone who plans to dive regularly with a buddy in deep water — it's the rescue skills module that makes you genuinely useful in an emergency.
