Course Description
La Sal Diving Center Alicante offers the SSI Search & Recovery specialty, equipping divers with the essential skills to locate and recover submerged objects. This specialized training focuses on systematic search patterns and the safe ascent of objects, a valuable capability for both recreational diving and professional applications. Participants will learn to plan and execute effective search strategies, utilizing tools like search reels and lift bags. A core part of the course involves refining buoyancy control and understanding the physics involved in object ascent, ensuring safety from planning to recovery.
The waters of Alicante provide a stable environment for developing these skills. While specific dive sites for this specialty are not detailed, the area generally boasts good visibility and an average sea temperature of around 20.4°C, suitable for diving for much of the year. From May to October, air temperatures typically range between 19.8°C and 27.6°C, with generally low rainfall in summer (June-August, below an average of 19mm), which allows for maximizing practice time.
This specialty is an excellent addition for those looking to expand their capabilities beyond typical recreational diving. A successful search and recovery operation requires precision, teamwork, and a solid understanding of underwater dynamics, enhancing a diver's problem-solving abilities and confidence in various scenarios. La Sal Diving Center Alicante provides the training in multiple languages—German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, and Russian—ensuring accessibility to a diverse international audience, always within SSI training standards.
