SSI Marine Ecology Course

Scuba Shack offers the SSI Marine Ecology Specialty, and two staff members — Ken and Nicole — hold Marine Ecology Instructor credentials. Nicole is also an AAUS Scientific Diver, which gives the conservation side of this course more substance than a standard add-on specialty.

The course covers how marine organisms interact with each other and their environments, energy flow through ocean communities, and the connection between ocean ecosystems. It leads to the SSI Marine Ecology Specialty certification. The shop also supports Project AWARE and the SSI Blue Oceans conservation movement.
