Offered by Cathedral Cove Dive Ltd
Coromandel, Waikato
Course Description
Complete your PADI Open Water Diver certification with Cathedral Cove Dive & Snorkel, a premier dive center located in the stunning Coromandel Peninsula. This specialized referral program is designed for individuals who have already successfully completed the theoretical knowledge development and confined water training portions of their PADI Open Water Diver course at another facility. Cathedral Cove Dive & Snorkel provides the ideal environment to finalize your certification by conducting the essential open water dives in the clear, vibrant waters of the Hahei region. You will be guided by experienced PADI instructors who are adept at working with referral students, ensuring a smooth and confidence-building transition into open water diving.
The open water dives will take place from the center's dedicated dive boat, granting access to the diverse and protected dive sites within the Cathedral Cove Marine Reserve and surrounding areas. These dives are crucial for applying the skills learned during your initial training in a real ocean environment. Under the watchful eye of your PADI instructor, you will practice buoyancy control, navigation, and essential safety procedures. The goal is to build your competence and comfort as a diver while experiencing the unique underwater topography and marine life that New Zealand's coast has to offer.
Cathedral Cove Dive & Snorkel operates with a strong commitment to diver education and safety, utilizing their local knowledge to select the best dive sites based on current conditions. As a PADI-certified dive center, they adhere to the highest international standards for diver training. The referral program is an efficient pathway to certification, especially for travelers or those who have relocated, allowing you to leverage prior learning and complete your dives in a spectacular setting. The center offers instruction in English and French, catering to a broader range of international divers.
Participants should arrive with their completed PADI eLearning or academic materials and confined water checklists, signed off by their original instructor. This ensures that you are ready to proceed directly to the open water training. The referral dives are structured to meet all PADI Open Water Diver performance requirements, typically involving four dives conducted over one or two days. Upon successful completion, your instructor will finalize your paperwork, enabling you to obtain your PADI Open Water Diver certification card. This is an excellent opportunity to earn your certification while enjoying the breathtaking natural beauty of Hahei and its underwater world.
