Offered by Dahayla South

Course Description
The Try Dive experience at Dive South offers a perfect introduction to the underwater world for absolute beginners. Under the guidance of a certified instructor, you will learn fundamental safety concepts and become familiar with essential scuba equipment. This session includes practical skills development, both at the surface and underwater, allowing you to experience breathing with scuba gear in a controlled environment. While not a formal certification, this program serves as an excellent first step into scuba diving, providing a taste of what lies beneath the waves. Dive South is affiliated with multiple training agencies including PADI, IDEA, and RAID, ensuring high standards of instruction.
This introductory dive is typically conducted in a safe, shallow water environment, often a pool or a calm, sheltered bay, to ensure comfort and confidence. The maximum depth for this experience is usually around 12 meters (40 feet), adhering to industry standards for beginner dives. The focus is on building comfort and basic skills, such as mask clearing and regulator recovery, in a relaxed setting. Participants will have the opportunity to observe marine life in its natural habitat, depending on the specific dive site chosen by Dive South. The center's location in the UK means that water temperatures can vary significantly throughout the year, with cooler months potentially requiring thicker wetsuits or drysuits.
